About

Jana is my name—four simple letters.  I love it.  I was named after my mother’s best friend in college.  Knowing I was named for someone with strong values and a faithful heart encourages me everyday to live up to the person my mother hoped I would become.

I was born in the fall 28 years ago.  I long to be somewhere where the leaves turn gold and the trees ignite with bursts of color every autumn season.  For me, it is the most enchanting time of the year and I long for it with impatience the moment the last leaf shrivels to brown.

My family is dearer to me than anyone or anything else in the world.  I grew up in the military and with the constant changes and moves, my family and I only grew closer and closer.  I can honestly call each member of my family my best friend.  My heart overflows with gratitude to have such a blessing in my life.

I am a graduate of Brigham Young University-Idaho.  I have a Bachelor’s degree in art.  I focused all my studies on photography, where my heart truly lies, but I pushed my efforts into all areas of art and history.  I will never be able to see enough museums to satisfy my need.

Cultures excite me more than anything else.  I love to travel and to meet new people.  I grew up in Germany and lived in Hawaii and New York.  I have been from coast to coast in the United States.  I was blessed to spend 18 months living in Italy serving a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

With culture comes my other passion:  FOOD.  I love to eat and try new foods.  Food rather shapes a culture and society, and that fascinates me.  And for the record, German food is my favorite.

I love to photograph and paint trees.

I have a favorite mug.  I bought it at a student art show for $5.00.  It has been one of the best purchases I have made yet.

Everyday I do my best to live God’s standards and hold fast to my faith in my Savior.

I am grateful for each day that I have been given.  Truly, I have no reason to be unhappy.  My goal is to recognize my blessings daily.
